Exuviæ








The project Exuviae analyses the relationship between a body and a garment. It transgresses the perspective on the affect between a naked and a clothed body.


Balancing on the verge of speculative design, it examines the situation of undressing and changing garments. It poses a question of what happens when we undress and remove each layer of our clothing. In its essence, a garment forms a body and in a parallel manner, a body forms a garment.

Nevertheless, for how long can the garment itself maintain the shape of the body after undressing? This project records a multiplicity of situations of how our perception of garments in both a subjective and an objective relation to the body changes in the act of undressing.








The intimate moments between a naked and clothed body are the pivotal points of this study with the intention to create a visual dialogue. Exuviae is a meditation and a process amidst these two realities and the experiences one can derive from them.
